Wednesday 22nd November 2000
Scrutineering took place from 13.30 today and the Lancia Delta
passed with flying colours. Being a World Championship event the
cars are subjected to very careful examination to ensure total
compliance with the homologation papers - in addition of course to
checking the normal safety measures.
This year's rally has World Rally Championship type servicing which
does not allow emergency service vehicles. Each crew can have two
service vehicles and a motorhome - officially work cannot be
undertaken on the car outside the designated service areas.
There is no servicing at all after the Super Special Stage in
Cardiff on Thursday evening and the cars go straight to parc-ferme
until the re-start at 06.30 on Friday morning.
Friday and Saturday mornings will see a 10 minute service halt at
Treforest which will be covered by Walkers Isuzu, thereby allowing
time for the main service van and motorhome to get to the primary
service point at Builth Wells.
